Christmas Cheer

We have been out surprising the young Starrs we support across Brighton & Hove by delivering Christmas Goodie Bags and £100 gift vouchers, kindly donated by The Dental Implant Centre, IEP Financial and Boundless. The Implant Centre, which has practices in both Hove and Haywards Heath, selected families who they felt this would make a real difference to this Christmas and boost morale. Their staff chose presents they thought families would really appreciate at this time of year and carefully packed the gift bags with blankets, toys, biscuits and games.

"We wanted to give something back to the local community this year, as a third of children will be in poverty this Christmas. We have chosen to support 10 local families supported by the Starr Trust by gifting some Christmas hampers. We hope this small gesture of Christmas treats will help these families over the Festive period and that our team’s efforts will help to bring some cheer to these special families."

said Sendy Powell, The Implant Centre in Hove.

Local businesses IEP Financial and Boundless, have also been expressing their seasonal goodwill in supporting a further 16 families within our Brighton & Hove community, by donating £100 supermarket vouchers, which the Starr Trust Elves have been out surprising young Starrs with this week.

Ian Poysden, of IEP Financial said:

"We hope these vouchers will go some way to making Christmas that extra bit special for families who may otherwise not be able to afford some of the basic traditions this season. It’s been a tough year for many with the pandemic impacting substantially on household incomes and this might just lift their spirits and show that they are not forgotten at this time of year."

Rob Starr, Chairman of the Starr Trust said:

"We are simply blown away by the generosity and thoughtfulness of these companies and can’t thank them enough. Without the ongoing support of businesses with a heart, such as The Implant Centre, IEP Financial and Boundless, we wouldn’t be able to continue to support these young people who rely heavily on the funding they receive from us, to enable them to continue with their individual development programmes. We are thrilled to be able to share this Christmas cheer with these exceptional young people and their families."

One of the parents said:

"OH MY GOODNESS! You are the most wonderful, kind people! What a lovely surprise. Bless you. All of your kindness is so gratefully received. Thank you. Xx"
