We would like to thank Firmballs this month and show how they have chosen to generously support us…
Firmballs - Networking Through Sport, is an organisation set up by local entrepreneur Sam Thomas and are the UK’s only provider of small-side football leagues, as well as golf and pool leagues – all exclusively for businesses and busy professionals.
Over the last 2 years and again this year, Firmballs decided on the Starr Trust being a chosen charity for their annual Premier League pitch tournament at the American Express Community Stadium. So far they have raised an incredible £2200! With another event upcoming on 22nd May 2025, we would love to invite you to take a look at the event as there are still a couple of team spots available for this exciting 7-a-side tournament! The Founder of Firmballs, Sam Thomas said:
“As a podcast host I have the opportunity to speak to a huge number of inspirational people, but sometimes in life you get to meet someone that has a profoundly, huge impact on you, both personally and professionally. Rob Starr for me has been one of those people. After first hearing his story many years ago at an event, not long after he started the Starr Trust, to have the honour of having him as a guest on the podcast many years later. Watching the Starr Trust grow and help inspire so many young people is truly incredible, I have always been in awe of what they do and it has been wonderful hearing from some of the young adults they have helped and the many lives they have changed. To then receive an email from someone I class as a mentor but more importantly a close friend asking if I would be an ambassador for the Starr Trust, it was the easiest decision I have ever had to make. If I can help and support this incredible charity to continue its amazing work, I truly see that as a privilege and an honour"
We are so grateful to businesses like these, as through their kind support, we are able to literally change the lives of young people like Bramble.
Could your business help us support even more young people that are reaching out to us for help? Please get in touch if you’d like to discuss ways you could get involved: tracey@starrtrust.org
