“I am writing to you today with a full heart to say an enormous thank you.

This means so much more to me than just financial help. It will give me the ability to walk into every room whether a university interview or a law firm networking event feeling confident, prepared, and like I truly belong there. This grant represents someone believing in the journey I've been on.

I have been immensely lucky than this is not my first time receiving the help from Star trust. Growing up, witnessing the legal system for eight years through my family's involvement with criminal and family court changed how I understand safety and justice. During that time, I was also a carer for my neurodiverse sister, learning to advocate for someone who couldn't always advocate for themselves. I saw how a system designed for protection can sometimes fail to provide it. That experience didn't break me but it gave me purpose. It sparked my determination to study law so I can help reform it from the inside.

But pursuing that dream comes with costs. Things that shouldn't be barriers, but sometimes feel like them. This grant removes that weight.
