Daniel is a talented young chess player, but his family were having difficulties supporting his chess financially. The Starr Trust funded Daniel for coaching and competition fees to help him fulfill his potential.
Daniel's mum says: "Daniel starting playing chess at the age of 7 and it has become his absolute passion in life. He is very talented and has won many awards across the county and country. He has been part of the Under 9 Sussex County Team on one of the top boards and also plays for the Under 11 Sussex County Team. Most recently he won the Under 11 Sussex Major tournament and has been promoted to the Under 18 section. His dream is to play for the England Junior Chess Team.
Daniel is over the moon to receive this award from Starr Trust. This will give him access to tailored 1:1 weekly coaching along with support to access tournaments and England qualifier tournaments."
